A pair of baseline assessments – one calculator, one non-calculator – each lasting one hour and worth 50 marks. They check the Year 7 content a student should know before moving through Year 8, making them ideal at the start of tutoring or the start of the school year.

What it covers

  • Non-calculator: place value, factors and multiples, prime factors and LCM, money problems, decimals, powers and roots, fractions ↔ decimals, perimeter and area
  • Calculator: ordering numbers and fractions, expanding brackets, ratio, coordinates, proportion (recipes), forming algebraic expressions, area of triangles, map scales

Who it's for

Year 8 students (age 12–13), or Year 7 students at the end of the year.

How to use it

Sit each paper in one hour under test conditions. No mark scheme is included – bring it to a Harringtons tutor to review.
