Year 1 Autumn English Activity Booklet
A seasonal English booklet that practises the core Year 1 reading and grammar skills through autumn topics – falling leaves, conkers, Bonfire Night and Halloween. Each page is a short, self-contained activity, so it works well for a 10–15 minute session.
What it covers
- Reading comprehension of a short poem ('Autumn Time') – rhyme, retrieval and inference
- Suffixes -ing, -ed, -er and -est
- Plurals with -s and -es
- Reading and understanding a set of Bonfire Night safety rules
- Ending sentences with full stops and exclamation marks
- Puzzle and word activities such as a squirrel search
Who it's for
Year 1 children (age 5–6). Also useful for early Year 2 children as autumn-term revision.
How to use it
Read each question aloud together if your child is still building reading fluency. Use the answer booklet to mark and talk through mistakes.
